Teresa Cresswell

Governor's Personal Statement

I have been employed by the NHS in Derbyshire for 43 years. The breadth of experience I would bring to this post covers working in as a nurse and health visitor in the acute and community services public health and commissioning health provision. My specific experience centralises upon integrated and partnership working with the emphasis upon improving health and social outcomes for children and their families through integrated working, and maximising the use of the skills and resources we have available to health and partner agencies. I have a strong ability to see things through, an enquiring mind and like to understand all the facts before I make or influence decisions being made. In addition I have 34 years’ working in Relate as a Counsellor, Therapist, Trustee and finally Chair of the Board of Trustees. This experience enables me to listen to people and help draw out what is important to them. I believe I have a lot to offer through my work experience and knowledge of health and other services. In times of economic pressure, we have to maximise our resources and provide the best services we can through creative working. I am good at communicating at all levels, and have undertaken significant community involvement research which has always influenced my decision making when translating service design into deliverable provision.
